Relaxing Summer??... Wait what is that?

Hello all!!!!

Sorry for the long time in between posts, I really need to get better at this whole blogging world.

So my summer vacation officially started last week.  I had to spend the last few days of school packing my entire classroom for the movers to come and take everything to a new school.  I entered the packing with very mixed emotions.  I teach in a district based program so as I was told I belong to the district not a school😳 So as sad as my principal and I are we both had no say in the situation.  Then a week before the movers were to show up my assistant and I found out that we may not get to move with the program and we were advised to maybe see what other jobs were out there and we wouldn't know for sure until August.  

So what a way to start my summer and trying to relax before baby #3 arrives.  I was extremely apprehensive at the thought of applying for jobs at new schools while 8 months pregnant.  Interviews would be interesting.  But I looked through all the job openings and found two that highly interested me.  So I applied and sent off my résumé to new principals. Both responded and requested interviews.  The process was going much better than I could have imagined.  Both interview teams had no problem with my being pregnant and being gone the first few weeks of school 😯 thank goodness 

So now starts my summer of waiting.  Waiting to find out where and what I'll be teaching in the fall.  Waiting for my new little one to make her appearance.  And waiting on everything else we have in the works.  The saying goes that patience is a virtue, I guess I get to find out how patient I can be and if it really is a virtue. 

Ah, any way welcome to summer all teachers. I wish everyone a very relaxing summer 😊 I promise my next post won't be so far off.

Missing in Action

Hi all!!!
Sorry I know that I have been absent from my brief stint in the blogging world, life has take a few strange twists and turns since I decided to start this blog.

First, I was a little surprised to find out at the end of October that I am pregnant with our third child.  This took us, as well as our families by surprise, but that saying "You make plans and God laughs" has come true in our life.  We found out last month that our newest edition will be a little girl joining her two older brothers. We couldn't be more excited for our newest edition to make her arrival this summer. No one more than me as this has not been the most pleasant pregnancy for me :/

Second, we had our youngest son evaluated for Early Intervention, due to our speech concerns.  He qualified and started to receive Speech once a week for an hour.  We love the therapist he has and are happy to report he is catching on very quickly.  We still have a long road ahead of us but I know he capable of overcoming this delay.

Lastly,  My husband started a new job.  Luckily he now has a work schedule where he can take the boys in the morning and is home for dinner and on weekends and holidays.  This is new for us, so we are adjusting to being a family with an actual normal schedule.  This has been different and challenging for all four of us in our own ways.

I am hoping to get back into a more regular blogging routine, as my classroom has definitely been having some sweet and sassy moments this school year.

Jamberry Nails :)

Hey there everyone!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is having just as awesome of a day as I am.  Tonight marks the start of fall break for us here in Albuquerque, thank you Balloon Fiesta we get a four day weekend :)

I have linked up with the wonder Gabrielle over at Teaching Special Thinkers to host an online Jamberry Nail event. This is the first time I have used them but I've been curious for a long time.  And let me tell you they are super easy to apply and plus they are super duper cute :) 

On this hand I used my all time favorite pattern, Chevron :)

On this hand I just went with a fun graphic black and white. Let me tell you I received so my compliments at school today. They were so easy to put on that I did them in between cooking dinner and homework with my kindergarten son. I can't wait to get more. My son even asked me if they had dinosaur ones for him :)

Busy busy busy!!!!

WOW!!!!!  That is the best word to describe the last month.  

First the big news: My educational assistant finally arrived and she is wonderful. It has been so nice to have an extra person in the classroom, it's also nice to have someone who notices things that I do not. It's funny though since she started I feel like I have been even busier than before, but she and I have gotten some major things done around the classroom. 

The picture above is from a project I finished before my EA started. My classroom is pretty far away from the playground and really far away from the office/nurse, so I decided I needed a playground bag. But of course I had to have one that is super cute but also functional. So off I went to Hobby Lobby. I bought a large canvas bag that zips of course and black and white iron on letters.

I am super happy with how it turned out, it is so cute but also super functional.  I carry all the essentials of a special ed pre-k teacher.  I have tissue, wipes, hand sanitizer, band aides, and a mini trash bag.  I also have things specific to my students, such as noise canceling head phones for my students that have noise sensitivity issues, I have my afternoon classes lunch cards since they eat lunch in the cafeteria as soon as they get there, I also have my fire drill binder.  It has my evacuation plans for a few of my students as well as the red and green cards that tell my admin if I have everyone when there is an emergency.  We don't leave the classroom without the bag and it has been super helpful, I am no longer caught off guard when we are out of the classroom. I highly suggest something like this for all teachers.

I hope everyone is enjoying the transition to fall.  I sure am and fall here means Balloon Fiesta :)

Super Star Flash Sale

In honor of my little man receiving the super star award in his 3rd week of kindergarten I am throwing a one day sale on my super star product. Tomorrow September 4th my ABC book will be on sale.

My students are loving this book I am in the process of printing and laminating a few more. 

Here's my little man with his super star award. He brought it home to decorate it and tomorrow they will hang it in the hallway.

Assistance PLEASE!!!

So I have worked the last three weeks without an educational assistance, half of that time has been with students. I always knew my assistant was was left arm but I feel like I have no arms lately.

I walk into school everyday hoping today is the day that my new assistant will be there. 

So please do not take your assistant for granted and if you are an educational assistant thank you so much sand you are more appreciated than you will ever know.
